What is The Council?

The Council is a unique social dating app that helps you create a more authentic dating profile by recruiting trusted friends to provide insights and stories about you. Instead of writing your own profile, your friends help showcase your best qualities.

How does the process work?

  1. Create a basic profile with your essential information

  2. Send a unique link to your trusted friends (Advocates)

  3. Your friends answer a series of questions about you

  4. Once at least three friends complete the survey, an AI generates a profile summary

  5. You review the profile and decide if you want to be included in future matchmaking

What information do I need to provide initially?

  • Phone number (kept private)

  • Email (kept private)

  • First name

  • Last name (kept private)

  • Date of birth (only age will be displayed)

  • Gender

  • Sexual preference

  • ZIP code (kept private)

  • Whether you want kids

  • A one-sentence description of what you're looking for

Is my personal information safe?

Yes. Sensitive information like your full name, phone number, and ZIP code will not be publicly displayed.

How many friends do I need to participate?

You need at least three Advocates to generate a profile.

What happens after my friends complete the survey?

  • An AI will create a two-sentence description based on your friends' feedback

  • A customized page will display the original feedback and AI summary

  • You'll have the option to be included in future matchmaking

Is this just another dating app?

No! The Council is different because:

  • It relies on your friends' perspectives, not just your own

  • It aims to capture your personality more authentically

  • It embeds your community into the dating experience

When will the full matchmaking feature be available?

The v1 rollout with full matchmaking capabilities is planned for a few months after the initial launch in January 2026.

For Advocates

What is an Advocate?

An Advocate is a trusted friend invited to help create a dating profile for someone. You'll provide insights, stories, and potentially photos to help showcase your friend in the most authentic way.

How long will the survey take?

The survey is designed to be quick and should only take a few minutes to complete.

What kind of questions will I be asked?

You'll be asked questions like:

  • How do you know the Dater?

  • What three things would you want someone to know about them on a blind date?

  • What's their perfect date?

  • What unique trait makes them an amazing partner?

  • Do you have any flattering photos to share?

Can I skip questions?

Yes! While more information is helpful, you can skip questions if you're not comfortable answering.

Will my friend see my exact responses?

Yes. The profile will display the original feedback from friends, along with an AI-generated summary.

What if I want to edit my responses?

After submitting, you'll be given a link to review and edit your responses.

Is this confidential?

The information is shared only with the Dater and is meant to help create an authentic profile.
